The Country Product Head is an intermediate management level position responsible for managing a broad range of Product Management employees, setting strategy and providing direction, leadership and budgetary management, etc.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life-cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team.
The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.
Utilize specialty knowledge to review, analyze, and develop beyond existing solutions
Develop plans and execute functional strategies for multiple countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units, as well as provide input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within region / business
Ensure solid partnerships and cross selling opportunities across range of products such as banking products, cash management, foreign exchange, credit, capital markets, and wealth management to deliver comprehensive services and solutions for clients
Establish and maintain relationships with risk, business risk, compliance, and other relevant groups within Citi, as well as develop and ensure execution of the business strategy, and manage risk and compliance
Partner with other regional and country leaders to share best practices and drive business strategies, solutions, and client centric solutions to differentiate Citi in the marketplace and achieve substantial growth targets for the business
Engage in internal and external negotiations
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
5-8 years of relevant experience
Experience managing in a large, complex and matrixed organization
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the industry, banking, and investment products
Working knowledge of different systems, theories, and practices relevant to a function
Practical experience of multiple business cycles
Knowledge of industry and competitor products / services
Working knowledge of strategic direction of the function within the business as well as a solid conceptual / practical grounding in function and / or area of expertise
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Demonstrated project management skills
Demonstrated internal and external negotiation skills
Bachelor’s degree / University degree or equivalent experience
