Provides management and direction for thearchitectural discipline, or may be assigned to lead a majorarchitectural project.
Responsibilities : Reviews and approvesdiscipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignmentschedules on each project.
Maintains appropriate staffing level,including temporary personnel, as needed. Reviews and approvesstaff forecasting reports.
If assigned to a major project, managesarchitectural efforts and coordinates all discipline staffingrequirements.Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline oneach project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied.
Works closely with Project Managers to resolve any existing orforecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality ofwork, schedule performance, or productivity.
Establishes standardsand procedures manuals for the discipline. Recommends improvementsto department procedures.Recruits, interviews, and evaluatesprospective employees.
Hires, offers personnel development,conducts performance evaluations, counsels employees, takescorrective actions (as required), and approves terminations.
Ensures that new employees receive orientation on company policiesand procedures.Supports pre-contract and business developmentefforts as required, serving as technical consultant.
Ensuresperformance within overhead budgets authorized for thediscipline.Actively participates in and promotes the QualityImprovement Program.
May head a committee within the discipline,striving to motivate and educate the assigned personnel.Performsother responsibilities associated with this position as may beappropriate.
