PO018 Carbon Pre-Comm Mechanical Test Engineer
PROJECT OVERVIEW :

An immediate opportunity exists, within our Mining and Metals business unit to be part of the ALBA Potline 6 Project in Manama, Bahrain.
The Board of Directors of Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (ALBA) has directed the ALBA Management Team to implement the construction of Potline 6 (the Project ) and all other necessary facilities to produce an additional 540,000 tonnes per year (tpy) (nominal) of production capacity.
The Project will include key facilities such as : Green Anode Production, Anode Bake, Anode Rodding, Reduction & Reduction Services, Casthouse and all associated infrastructure and sub facilities.
The Project Leadership Team will be based in Manama, Bahrain, supported by the New Delhi Execution Unit.
Salary will be based on current market rates and the posted grade will not be adjusted to suit the successful candidate.

It is a requirement to be considered for employment to produce a Good Conduct Certificate from the CID. A certificate completed within the last 3 months will be accepted.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Supervise and Support the mechanical Pre-Commissioning activities for the Carbon Area of the Smelter.
Organizing daily activities with testing contractors, walk down inspections, closeout of punch items, to ensure safe and successful completion of the works.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :
Reporting to the Pre-Commissioning Carbon Lead, will assist in the preparation of all system definitions for the area, system scoping, pre-
commissioning plan and work closed with all areas, contractors and client for the successful testing and handover for Commissioning.
Supervise and support Contractors on the mechanical testing activities at Carbon Area to ensure successful and final handover of the areas to Client team for Commissioning & Operations.
Carbon areas will include Paste Plant, Anode Baking Furnaces, Anode Rodding and Anode Handling areas, Fume Treatment Centre and, Tending & overhead cranes, non-process buildings.
Support and supervise all integration and interfacing testing with other areas and services & utilities to ensure full integration of the Carbon Area into the Plant.
Support the full implementation of the Pre-Commissioning Turnover & Handover Plan, follow turnover schedule and ensure handover to Owner is achieved as the plan.
Coordinate daily activities with the Carbon Area testing contractors.
Review & approve all test reports submitted by Contractor.
Ensure the implementation of Lock-Out / Tag-Out & Work Authorization process and STARRT for all activities on site.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
Mechanical Engineer (University Graduated) with 5+ years of experience in Pre-Commissioning testing, compressed air systems, HVAC, Hydraulic Units, Non-
Process buildings, Gas / water distribution and Fire Protection systems and Anode Handling Conveyor & LOTO.
Previous experience in Smelter & Carbon area testing is a plus.
