CAT IIISomali Linguists will provide linguisticsupport to Commander Fifth Fleet (COMFIFTHFLT) who operates in the COMUSNAVCENTArea of Responsibility (AOR), located Outside Continental United States(OCONUS).

Linguists will also support Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), which hasbeen established as an embedded activity with COMUSNAVCENT / COMFIFTHFLT toprovide coordinated Coalition operations in the AOR.

The CMF is aninternational naval partnership that provides security for civilian maritimetraffic by conducting counter-piracy and counter-terrorism missions in theheavily-trafficked waters of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, includingthe Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea and the wider IndianOcean.

Linguists shall provide languageinterpretation, translation, and transcription services to COMUSNAVCENTsupporting a wide variety of general purpose, intelligence and operationalmissions.
