POSITION SUMMARY :
Act astechnical advisor to support Carrier Strike Group and / or the ExpeditionaryStrike Group / Amphibious ready Group Staff during installation and testing ofC4ISR systems.
provide feedback to COMSPAWAR / PEO C4I / PEO EIS on systemperformance, design and logistics issues.Work with local and distance support maintenance / support organizationsto resolve technical issues.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
1.As TechnicalAdvisor to ARG / CSG Staff N6, provide assist in troubleshooting C4ISR issues andmake recommendations concerning issue resolution and system employment andoptimization.
2.Works withshipboard technicians, staff officers, In Service Engineering Activity (ISEA)and other technicians, installation engineers, Fleet Readiness Directoratestaff, and others as required to ensure required end-
to-end connectivity tosatisfy fleet C4ISR requirements.
3.Documentsissues and resolution of issues using Remedy.Provides reports to Fleet Readiness Directorate as directed.
4.Provides OJT onsystems for shipboard and shore technicians. May be required to mentorcivilian / government technicians.
5.Assistshipboard technicians in preparation of systems for inspections.Assist with SOVT and SOT when directed.
6.Candidatemust be capable of working independently with little or no supervision in ahigh operations tempo environment, and be willing to work a flexible schedule,including shipboard deployments between 4-
12 weeks and other overseas travel.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENTDIRECTLY USED :
Navycomputer systems and Remedy ITSM will be used primarily.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Candidate’s primary work will be aboard Navy ships, and may be based outof a Vectrus office or government office / lab when not required aboardship.
In order to provide requiredservice to fleet assets, work at times other than normal working hours may berequired. Premium pay will be paid for underway periods.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Personnel may be required tostand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Individual must be able to lift upto 30 lbs. unassisted and meet U.
S. Navy medical requirements as detailed in COMUSFLTFORCOM / COMPACFLT6320.3A.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One year related experience may be substituted forone year of education, if degree is required.
Minimum of BS in Information Technology (or equivalent technicaldegree) or 12 years technical experience in related discipline.
10 yearstechnical experience with Afloat Navy or Navy C4I systems required.Certification as IAT2 (per DoD Inst 8750.1and Navy requirements) with appropriate IA certification required and computingenvironment certification highly desired.
Minimum of 6 years ofexperience with Navy C4I, with experience in some of the following required : LegacyHF (URT-23 / R-
2368), HFRG, DMR, WSC-3(V)3,7,&11, WSC-6(V)5,7,&9, WSC-8,USC-69, USC-38 and WSC-9. Working knowledge of baseband and patching systemssuch as ADNS INC II, INCIII with SP2 / 3, SA-
2112 and TVS / Cornet desired.Excellent written and verbal communicationsskills required.Experience using Remedyfor ticket documentation / resolution desired.
General experience with the configuration, operations andtroubleshooting of Naval Afloat Networks such as ISNS, CANES and SWAN required.
Knowledge of Commandand control display systems, GCCS-M preferred. Experience with InformationAssurance OSE-CND suite(HBSS and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator) and network / systemscanning tools required.
Mustbe able to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity involving multiple sites andsystems. Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing.
Mustbe able to communicate well with senior Navy officials and technicalpersonnel.Must be able to provide OJTto technical personnel and review / understand technical documentation.
