The role specialises in the design, delivery and management of initiatives that drives positively DHL’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP), people agenda and organisational effectiveness.

Design of and ensure implementation of Engagement and Diversity strategy, conceptualise and deliver fair and high impact solutions / initiatives to increase employee engagement and productivity in line with business needs, HR strategy, industry best practices and budgets.


Employer Branding & Talent Acquisition

  • Oversee and manage programs and activities that promote DHL Express as an Employer of Choice.
  • Employer branding : Build and maintain a cohesive set of programs that create a compelling employee experience throughout the talent lifecycle & a compelling employment brand and value proposition.
  • Provide guidelines, materials and activities to promote DHL brand to attract / retain candidates, manage job fairs materials and benchmark employer attractiveness.

  • Develop and deliver initiatives around DHL Express Employee Promise : messaging, collateral, presentations (internal and speaking opportunities), liaise with PR and Marketing for editorial and press release opportunities that distinguish DHL as an employer of choice.
  • Provide leading edge support and acts as a business partner coaching HR leaders on HR Awards and external recognition and accreditation (GPTW, Best Employer, Top Employer, etc.).
  • Manages the development and implementation of talent acquisition tools to be rolled out for MENA such as assessment centres, competency based interviews and psychometric testing tools for key identified roles.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Design / sponsor recognition programs and schemes, motivational initiatives.
  • Design regional specific H&W initiatives / sponsor the program while maintaining close rapport with global risk / insurance.
  • Drive divisional / regional Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and advise colleagues on their contribution or own activities (i.e. women in leadership).
  • Coach and support senior managers with facilitating Active Leadership workshops, performance dialogues, EOS / improvement workshops, team building and other engagement activities.
  • Responsible for guiding & creating a strong EVP for the region through key Employee Engagement and culture initiatives which have an impact on EOS, Insurance costs & Employer of Choice awards ( i.
  • e. EOS improvements, Health & Wellbeing program, Engagement toolkits , Recognition).

  • Standardize BIC On-boarding process : Ownership and promotion of frameworks, tools and programs for effective induction and integration of new and existing employees into new roles.
  • OD support

  • In collaboration with the MENA HRD, supports the company’s talent management strategies through a holistic leadership talent development process.
  • Provides organisational development expertise to diagnose issues, identify areas of improvement and recommend initiatives to improve leadership and / or team performance.
  • Drive the Performance Dialogues (PD).
  • Establishes key metrics and evaluation to measure the impact of leadership development efforts. Reports on them regularly to key stakeholders.
  • In alignment with GHO; lead execution of key global programs & initiatives in region including talent programs, career management, and culture and engagement related initiatives.
  • Accountable for program roll out, effectiveness, budget, vendor & contract management, and project oversight. Participate in the design and delivery of talent or learning programs (ICCC HR) as appropriate.

  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
  • Seek, share and adopt ideas and best practices to ensure DHL MENA’s OD standards reflect leading market practices.

  • Proactively assess and analyse engagement climate in the organisation to identify trends and areas of improvement.

  • Minimum 6-8 years of work experience in a Senior leadership role in Human Resources.
  • Fluency in English, written as well as verbal. Arabic is a plus.
  • Experience in project planning and management.
  • Strong knowledge of methods and procedures used in developing and implementing organisational effectiveness and leadership development programs.
  • Highly developed business acumen and understanding of the express logistics business model.
  • Demonstrates the ability to shape direction.
  • A team player, who is positive and highly motivated towards achieving objectives and results.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills are required to engage and influence, motivate and deliver through others.
  • Ability to work equally effective in team-based environments as well as on tasks, which require high levels of initiative and autonomy.
  • Can work in a matrix environment.
