We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Boat Coxswain with active Secret clearance to support our Navy customer small USV Mine Hunting operations in Panama City, FL and Manama, Bahrain.

Position will require training inPanama City for3 to 6 months, and will then require a one year minimum deployment to Bahrain.

As Boat Coxswain / Diesel Mechanic, you will integrate into a small team charged with operations and maintenance of deployed systems in support of US Navy mine countermeasures (MCM) missions in the U.

S. Fifth Fleet Area of Responsibility. The small craft employed (11-meter RHIB) is equipped with Launch and Recovery (L&R) hardware that will also require daily maintenance and minor repairs.

Your assigned unit mission tasking will support data collection, test and evaluation of prototype equipment, and analysis for objectives in various harbor areas, littorals and shipping lanes.

Operations will be conducted from small boats deployed from shore, embarked from various Navy Units Afloat and / or from Forward Operating bases.

Qualifications

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Perform duties as a boat coxswain for an 11 Meter RHIB and CRRC.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of the vessel(s) diesel engine, water jet propulsion unit, and boat mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems to determine route cause of issue and recommend a corrective action.
  • Fill out daily reports and logs.
  • Launch and recovery of the vessels
  • Navigation and communications aboard the craft
  • Overall safe operations of the vessels
  • Testing and maintenance to ensure equipment is in operating condition

    • You would be a great fit if you have

  • A High School diploma and 6+ years of equivalent technical experience, an associate degree and 3+ plus years, or a Bachelors Degree and 0 2+ years of directly related experience.

    • Military and technical training is highly desired and may be substituted for a degree.

  • Military or civilian training and experience as a diesel mechanic with demonstrated experience with air conditioning and electrical systems.
  • Military or civilian training and experience as a coxswain with boat coxswain / captain qualifications obtained through military or civilian sources.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • You are willing to work a minimum of one year in Bahrain (travel and lodging provided by company within villas in a new part of Manama)
  • A Medical Physical within the last 12 months due to possible remote operations.
  • Valid US Drivers License
  • An active Secret clearance, which requires a US citizen

    • It would be even better if you have

  • Maritime operations experience. Small boat familiarization, able to work on the water in a challenging environment and operate independently or as part of a small team.
